JAMMU, Dec 1: The search operation to locate two individuals missing after their vehicle fell into the Chenab river in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir entered its second day on Sunday, according to officials.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, alongside Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Mehta, visited the site of the incident in the Kandhote-Shiva Pul area to supervise the coordinated rescue efforts, the officials noted.
The accident occurred on Saturday morning, leading to one fatality while two others remain unaccounted for.
Rescue teams, comprising members from the NDRF, SDRF, Quick Response Team of the police, and local volunteers, are working diligently to search for the missing persons, officials reported.
During their visit, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP evaluated the roadside conditions at Kandhote-Shiva Pul to improve safety measures and discuss potential enhancements to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
The district administration has pledged to provide all necessary assistance to the rescue teams and has expressed its sympathies to the grieving family, as stated by the officials.
