Srinagar, Dec 31: On Tuesday, security forces staged a mock drill at Qazigund railway station in South Kashmir to evaluate the emergency response capabilities and readiness to handle situations such as terrorist attacks.
A police spokesperson reported, “Today, police collaborated with CAPF, RPF, and Fire and Emergency services in Kulgam to conduct this drill at Railway Station Qazigund, aimed at assessing emergency response mechanisms and the capacity to manage critical situations.”
The exercise was designed to prepare personnel for quick and safe responses to any incident, particularly those involving terrorism, while evaluating response times, coordination, and overall effectiveness, the spokesperson elaborated.
Additionally, the drill sought to identify areas for enhancement and improve the overall response framework.
“A team of specialized officers from Kulgam Police, CAPF, RPF, and Fire and Emergency services participated in this important exercise,” the spokesperson added.
This mock drill precedes the highly awaited inauguration of the Udhampur-Banihal rail link, which will facilitate direct train services from Kashmir to the rest of the nation.
