Rajouri/Jammu, Jan 29: On Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir police carried out raids at 25 locations in an effort to target terrorists operating from across the Line of Control, according to officials.
These operations took place in various areas of the border district as part of an ongoing investigation into cases filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against terrorists based in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), officials reported.
CRPF personnel supported the police throughout the operation.
The residences of Iftikhar Hussain and his brother Mohd Parvaz were searched in Tundi Tarar near the town around 9:50 AM; however, nothing was discovered during the searches, which lasted over an hour, officials noted.
Their brother, Mohd Asgar, also known as “Billa” or “Kaka,” is a terrorist who has been operating from across the LoC, the officials revealed.
Searches are ongoing, and additional information is anticipated.
The raids occurred one day after security forces conducted extensive search operations at nearly two dozen locations across Jammu, aiming to eliminate terrorism from a region that witnessed multiple attacks last year.
The combing operations in the high-altitude and forest areas along the LoC concluded without any contact with terrorists, the officials said, emphasizing that security forces have intensified anti-terrorism efforts to prevent terrorists from using winter to establish their footholds.
