Srinagar, Feb 26: Tourists visiting the famous Dal Lake were captivated by a traditional Shikara March that highlighted the unique cultural wealth and historical heritage of Kashmir valley on Wednesday.
The shikara march took place on the second day of the Srinagar Heritage Festival, “Soun Meeraas,” an initiative by the District Administration Srinagar.
This event, organized in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, aimed to educate the younger generation about the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Srinagar.
During this occasion, both tourists and locals enjoyed live demonstrations of the Floating Market on Dal Lake, a testament to the Kashmiri culture of earlier times when local farmers and artisans sold their goods directly from their boats.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar, Syed Ahmad Kataria, along with other senior officials from the District Administration Srinagar and IGNCA, participated in the event.
