- “More than 90% of affected feeders are projected to be back in service by this evening”
SRINAGAR, Dec 28: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has provided reassurance to the residents of Kashmir, stating that efforts to restore power are in active progress following significant disruptions caused by recent snowfall. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he outlined the current situation and the ongoing efforts to resolve the outages.
“In the Kashmir region, 41 feeders at 33 KV level and 739 feeders at 11 KV level are currently non-operational. However, there are no outages reported at the 132 KV or 220 KV levels. Restoration efforts are ongoing, and we expect over 90% of the feeders to be operational by this evening. I am consistently communicating with the PDD team to keep track of the situation,” Omar Abdullah stated.
Although the snowfall has disrupted power supply across several feeder levels, the Chief Minister confirmed that 132 KV and 220 KV levels remain unaffected. The Power Development Department (PDD) teams are diligently working to restore service, and the expectation is that more than 90% of the affected feeders will be operational by evening. (KNS)
