KATRA, Feb 20: Two final-year architecture students from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) delivered impressive presentations at the “International Conference on Religious Architecture” hosted by the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna. This conference was part of the BCE-NIT Patna Centenary Year Celebration (1924-2024).
Pradnya Jogdan presented her research paper titled “Revisiting Sacred Geometry: The Dialogue between Parametric and Religious Architecture,” focusing on how parametric design can maintain spiritual symbolism, improve environmental performance, and enhance community engagement. Her findings underscored the fruitful relationship between sacred traditions and computational design.
Reha Shiv Bharti explored the topic “Biophilia in Sacred Spaces: Harmony between Nature & Spirituality,” discussing how places of worship could be revitalized through thoughtful integration of natural elements. Her research aimed to promote cultural sensitivity, community participation, and improved health and spirituality.
Both students conducted their research under the supervision of Vinod Kumar, Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture & Landscape Design. Their commendable work has earned them the opportunity to publish their research papers in a peer-reviewed journal.
