Karra Commits to Strengthening the Party at All Levels

JAMMU, Jan 12: A comprehensive workshop for senior Congress leaders, including newly elected MLAs, former Ministers, and party candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, took place today in Jammu.
The event aimed to enhance and reinforce the Congress organization at the grassroots through assembly-wise mass contact initiatives throughout the year.
The Chief Guest, AICC Incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatsinh Solanki, was joined by JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, who oversaw the proceedings.
Key figures such as AICC General Secretary and CLP leader G A Mir, along with AICC Secretaries Manoj Yadav, Shah Nawaz Chaudhary, and Neeraj Kundan, actively participated in the discussions.
In his address, Bharatsinh Solanki proclaimed 2025 as the “Year of Organization” for Congress, highlighting the necessity of revitalizing the party structure at all levels.
He urged leaders to tackle organizational deficiencies to ensure preparedness for upcoming elections.
Solanki commended Karra’s engagement with grassroots workers following the recent elections, which gathered essential feedback for reinforcing the party.
He reiterated Congress’s pivotal role in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing its secular ideology as a counterbalance to the divisive tactics of the BJP.
Solanki acknowledged the positive effects of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, especially in Kashmir, which has influenced recent election results.
In his welcoming remarks, Karra discussed the hurdles the party faces and the importance of strengthening the organization.
He reminded attendees of Congress’s significant contributions to Jammu and Kashmir during the UPA Government under Dr. Manmohan Singh, particularly in enhancing power, railway, and road infrastructure.
Karra pointed out that many ongoing projects inaugurated by the current Government were initially launched during the previous Congress-led Government, although they faced delays under BJP rule.
He also addressed the ongoing fight for statehood and the restoration of governance rights in Jammu and Kashmir, urging party workers to stay committed to serving the people, especially the youth.
AICC General Secretary G A Mir commended the workshop’s initiatives and reiterated the Congress’s dedication to its unifying ideology, which he believes is key for the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged Congress members to remain alert and prepared for the political challenges ahead, particularly in opposing the divisive policies of the BJP.
