RAJOURI/JAMMU, Feb 10: On Monday, an army soldier sustained severe injuries due to gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, as reported by officials.
The soldier was stationed at a forward post in the Kalal area of the Nowshera sector when he was struck by a bullet. He was promptly transported to a military hospital for treatment.
Preliminary reports indicate that the gunfire originated from across the LoC at approximately 2:40 PM.
Earlier, on February 8, an army patrol came under gunfire from a forest across the LoC in the Keri sector, where terrorists appeared to be waiting for a chance to infiltrate.
In response, Indian troops returned fire and subsequently reinforced the anti-infiltration grid to maintain close surveillance in the area.
