NEW DELHI, Feb 11: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla responded to BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Tuesday, asserting that all inquiries posed in the House carry “national importance.” This remark came after Rudy attempted to raise a question about fisheries, emphasizing its significance at the national level.
When Birla invited Rudy to begin the Question Hour, he noted that it had been quite some time since the BJP member had the opportunity to speak.
In the course of questioning on fishery development in Bihar, Rudy asked Birla if he ate fish. The Speaker replied that he did not since he follows a vegetarian diet.
During a follow-up question on the same topic, Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee brought up that when JD(U)’s Rajiv Ranjan Singh, known as Lalan Singh, was not a minister, he would inquire when he would be served Hilsa, a prized type of fish.
Speaker Birla instructed Banerjee to stay on topic with his questions. (PTI)
