JAMMU, Dec 29: After a two-day closure, the 270-kilometer Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has reopened for vehicle traffic as of Sunday.
Traffic Department officials reported that passenger vehicles are now allowed to travel in both directions on the highway.
Commuters are advised to adhere to lane discipline to prevent congestion caused by overtaking. Additionally, drivers are urged to exercise caution due to slippery road conditions between Banihal and Qazigund.
“Mughal Road, Sinthan Road, Sonamarg-Kargil Road, and Bhaderwah-Chamba Road remain closed because of snow,” the officials noted.
It’s important to highlight that the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway had been shut down on Friday due to severe weather and heavy snowfall. (KNO)
