Srinagar, Jan 15: The Srinagar police have acknowledged derogatory sectarian comments made by certain individuals and are taking suitable legal measures against them, an official reported.

In a message posted on X, the Srinagar Police stated, “Srinagar police has acknowledged derogatory sectarian remarks made by some individuals, who are presently being interrogated at the police station. Suitable legal action will be taken as per the law.”
According to the Srinagar Police, in recent months, some individuals with ill intentions have been partaking in sectarian defamation on social media, aiming to instigate division.
The Srinagar Police cautioned that individuals who share or forward derogatory content against any sect will face strict legal repercussions.
“In recent months, it has been noted that a few individuals with ill intentions have been engaging in sectarian defamation on social media, attempting to foster division. Legal proceedings will be initiated against all offenders, and anyone who shares or forwards such derogatory content against any sect will be subject to strict action under the full extent of the law,” the Srinagar Police mentioned on X.
