Pattan, Dec 9: On Monday morning, security personnel discovered and safely defused an improvised explosive device (IED) near the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway in the Palhallan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official reported that the IED was found at Palpora Palhallan along the highway. The device was detected by the Road Opening Party of 29RR and local police, prompting a call to the Bomb Disposal Squad.
As a safety precaution, traffic was halted, but it resumed in both directions on the national highway after the IED was neutralized by the BDS.
In the meantime, the police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
