The adoption of the Constitution in 1950 marked a crucial beginning for this extraordinary journey. Developed under the guidance of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Constitution established India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic, ensuring fundamental rights that fostered an equitable society while highlighting the importance of unity in diversity. This framework remains a symbol of hope and resilience, preserving the nation’s democratic fabric.
In its formative years, India dedicated itself to nation-building as leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru envisioned a modern, industrialized country.
