JAMMU, Feb 20: In separate incidents, three individuals, including a police officer, lost their lives while riding motorcycles in the Jammu and Udhampur districts, officials reported on Thursday.
Selection grade constable Manpreet Singh, in his early 30s, tragically died when an electric bus collided with his motorcycle at Gadigarh in Jammu on Thursday. The bus driver has been apprehended, and the vehicle has been confiscated, according to the officials.
Earlier, late on Wednesday night, two young men, Sushant Sharma and Vijay Kumar, were fatally injured after an unidentified vehicle struck their motorcycle near Khoon in the Majalta area of Udhampur district. Officials stated that Sharma was operating the motorcycle and a search is underway to locate and arrest the responsible driver.
In a separate incident, two individuals sustained injuries when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Nachlana in Ramban district on Thursday afternoon. Rescuers transported the injured to a nearby hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable, according to the officials.
