UDHAMPUR, Dec 11: The three-day District Handball Championship for both men and women, organized by the District Handball Association of Udhampur, successfully concluded today at the Mini Stadium in Udhampur.
On the final day, MLA Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta, was the chief guest, with Narinder Singh, the Excise and Taxation Officer for the Udhampur-Reasi Range, serving as the guest of honour.
During his speech, the chief guest praised the organizers for their efforts in conducting the championship. He highlighted the importance of such tournaments in providing opportunities for emerging talent in the district and in nurturing a sports culture that contributes to a healthier community. He encouraged all participants to pursue sports for both their physical and mental well-being and commended the District Handball Association and the J&K Handball Association for their roles in promoting sports throughout the J&K Union Territory.
After the speeches, the chief guest distributed prizes to the participants.
Attendees included Vikram Slathia, President of the District Handball Association Udhampur; Dr. Jogeshwar Gupta, District Youth Services and Sports Officer; former President of the Municipal Council Udhampur; Raj Guru, Senior Vice President of the J&K Volleyball Association; Jatinder Vermani, President of Beopar Mandal Udhampur; as well as many sports enthusiasts who came to witness the final match.
