JAMMU, December 5: On Thursday, four individuals suspected of drug trafficking, including three women, were apprehended by local authorities. The police seized 40.5 grams of heroin and several sharp weapons during the operation.
The suspects, identified as Parveen Kumar (also known as “Pinna”), Rekha Kumari (“Kajal”), Jyoti Bala (“Ramta”), and Rashmi Langeh, all hailing from Chorli village in Bishnah, were arrested following a tip-off, according to a police spokesperson.
The officer noted that these individuals are linked to a network distributing drugs to local youth.
A case has been initiated under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as well as the Arms Act at the Bishnah police station, with further investigations ongoing. The police encourage community members to report any suspicious activities to their nearest police station.
