SRINAGAR, Dec 13: Authorities seized 134 cubic feet of illegal timber in the Watapora region of Bandipora today, with the involvement of police and Forest officials.
Following specific intelligence, a police team from PS Bandipora, along with Forest department officials, conducted a raid at a designated location in the village of Watapora.
“During the operation, they discovered 197 wooden Deodar and Kail sleepers, totaling approximately 134 cubic feet,” the police reported.
Additionally, one bandsaw mill was confiscated, and its owner has been apprehended, according to law enforcement.
A case has been registered under the relevant legal provisions at PS Bandipora, and further investigation is underway.
