BANIHAL/JAMMU, Feb 21: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway reopened on Friday morning after being closed overnight due to snowfall in the Banihal area, according to officials.
The highway was shut down around 7 pm on Thursday because of slippery road conditions in multiple spots between Ramsoo and Banihal in Ramban district, which left more than 300 vehicles stranded.
“Traffic on the highway resumed at approximately 7 am Friday and is now flowing smoothly in both directions,” stated S P Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic for the national highway.
