BANIHAL/JAMMU, Feb 1: A tragic accident occurred on Saturday when a truck transporting liquor bottles skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, resulting in one death and three injuries, according to officials.
The incident took place near Battery Cheshma in the Ramban district as the driver, Rafaqat Khattana, lost control while rounding a curve. The truck was heading to Srinagar from Jammu, police reported.
According to authorities, the vehicle tumbled down into a 300-foot gorge, causing the immediate death of Yasir Ali. The driver and two other passengers, Junaid and Zakir Hussain, were rescued in critical condition by emergency responders and transported to a hospital for treatment.
