Jammu, Feb 24: Police apprehended two suspected criminals within hours after they discharged firearms outside a marriage hall in the area, recovering two pistols from their possession.
The suspects, identified as Rajat Raina, also known as “Rishu”, and Raghunandan Kesar, referred to as “Raghu”, both hailing from Marh, were taken into custody while traveling in an SUV on Ring Road near Miran Sahib, according to a police spokesperson.
They, along with another accomplice named Goura Jatt, had fired several shots outside a wedding venue in Miran Sahib late Sunday night before making their escape.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire. The police have initiated a case and are actively searching for the third suspect who remains at large. From the detained criminals, authorities recovered two pistols, three live cartridges, and one spent casing, and their vehicle was confiscated as well, the spokesperson stated.
