Kathua/Jammu, Feb 18: Police arrested two individuals in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday after a significant amount of cash was discovered in their possession.
The individuals were traveling in a vehicle headed for Kashmir, coming from Punjab, when they were stopped at Lakhanpur, the main entry point into Jammu and Kashmir, an official reported.
A substantial sum of cash, amounting to crores of rupees, was found concealed in a specially designed compartment within the car. The income tax department has been notified about the discovery.
The two passengers, who are from the valley, have been taken into custody and are currently being interrogated, according to the official.
