JAMMU, Dec 31: On Tuesday, officials reported that two individuals involved in bovine smuggling were detained under the tough Public Safety Act (PSA) in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Raj Ali from Mantalai and Gulam Qadir from Ganshad have been incarcerated under the PSA, according to officials.
Their detention stems from their alleged participation in notorious bovine smuggling operations. The district magistrate of Udhampur issued the detention order.
Both accused individuals have a history of involvement in multiple bovine smuggling cases, with various complaints filed against them at the Chenani Police Station.
Despite receiving numerous warnings, they continued their activities, which were deemed a threat to communal harmony in the area, officials noted. (PTI)
