SRINAGAR, Dec 5: In a significant operation on Thursday, two terror associates were apprehended in Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir, while armed with AK-47 rifles.
Officials reported the arrest of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat from Nipora village and Altaf Ahmad Lone from Zadoora, from whom weapons and ammunition were seized.
“The recovery occurred in the lower Munda area of Qazigund tehsil and included two AK-47 rifles, four magazines, and several rounds of ammunition. A case has been filed against the arrested individuals, and investigations are ongoing,” stated the officials.
In response to recent brutal attacks on the Army, police, and civilians, security forces have launched a robust anti-terror campaign throughout the union territory aimed at dismantling the terror ecosystem, which includes targeting terrorists and their support networks. (Agencies)
