Amaravati, Jan 19: On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the commitment of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government towards Andhra Pradesh, announcing the approval of projects exceeding Rs 3 lakh crore for the state in just six months.
He made this statement while inaugurating the National Institute of Disaster Management’s (NIDM) southern campus and the National Disaster Response Force’s (NDRF) 10th Battalion campus near Vijayawada, among other initiatives.
Shah further noted that PM Modi has allocated Rs 27,000 crore for the development of Amaravati capital city through HUDCO and the World Bank.
In a critique of the previous YSRCP government, Shah encouraged the citizens of Andhra Pradesh not to linger on the “lost” five years, asserting that Chief Minister Naidu and PM Modi would collaborate with renewed energy and an accelerated pace to progress the state.
“I assure you that the Narendra Modi government stands firm in its support for Chandrababu Naidu and the development of Andhra Pradesh,” he stated.
Regarding the NDRF, Shah asserted that India has now emerged as a global leader in Disaster Management and is at the forefront of disaster-resilient infrastructure.
While the NDRF reacts to natural disasters, he added that the NDA is prepared to assist the public during “man-made” crises.
He expressed confidence that after significant victories in the 2024 Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, the NDA is ready to assume power in Delhi as well in early 2025.
CM Chandrababu Naidu called on the Union Minister to ensure ongoing support from the Centre until the state fully rebounds.
Among those present were Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Union Ministers K Ram Mohan Naidu, and Bandi Sanjay Kumar. (PTI)
