NEW DELHI, Feb 8: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has pushed back the deadline to register for the civil services preliminary examination 2025 to February 18.
Each year, the UPSC conducts the civil services examination in three phases: preliminary, mains, and interview, to recruit candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and others.
According to a statement released on the Commission’s website, the deadline for applying for the Civil Services (Preliminary)-2025 and Indian Forest Service (Preliminary)-2025 exams has now been extended to 18.02.2025 at 6 PM.
The UPSC did not clarify the reason for the application deadline extension. However, official sources indicated that some candidates reported technical issues while attempting to submit their applications through the portal.
The civil services preliminary examination is scheduled to take place on May 25.
It is anticipated that around 979 vacancies will be filled through this examination, including 38 positions reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities. (Agencies)
