MUMBAI, Jan 20: VE Commercial Vehicles announced on Monday that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Baidyanath-LNG for the deployment of 500 LNG trucks.
This agreement, signed during the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo, builds on a preliminary agreement made between the two companies last August, according to a statement from VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Ltd.
VECV operates as a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Ltd.
The new agreement aims to enhance the LNG ecosystem in India by promoting the deployment of Pro 6055 LNG trucks with customers, providing training for service technicians on LNG technology, and developing LNG fueling networks throughout Central India.
This collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to facilitating the transition of India’s long-haul transport sector to cleaner fuel alternatives, as noted by the company.
“As LNG becomes increasingly important for long-haul transportation, Eicher Trucks and Buses is dedicated to offering effective solutions to our customers,” said Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV. “Partnering with a prominent LNG provider like Baidyanath LNG will encourage transporters to embrace LNG as a sustainable and environmentally-friendly option.” (PTI)
