JAMMU, Jan 21: Tragically, a woman and her six-month-old son lost their lives due to an alleged cylinder explosion at their residence in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, as reported by officials.
The incident occurred in the evening while Shazia Kousar, wife of Sajjad Hussain, was preparing a meal at their home in Jandrola village, Mandi area.
Neighbors quickly extinguished the flames and rushed the critically injured Kousar and her baby, Ayan Ahmad, to a hospital, where they were sadly pronounced dead upon arrival, the officials mentioned.
Authorities have initiated an inquest into the matter, they added.
