BEIJING, Feb 5: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov engaged in discussions in Beijing on Wednesday, emphasizing a commitment to high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road initiative for mutually beneficial outcomes.
Xi expressed China’s willingness to further enhance economic, trade, and investment collaboration with Kyrgyzstan while also importing more quality goods from the nation.
He indicated that China supports more Chinese companies in investing and establishing operations in Kyrgyzstan, urging the country to diligently protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors.
Regarding connectivity, Xi stated that both nations should work together to ensure the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is executed with high standards and quality. He also highlighted the need to modernize existing ports and to increase both passenger and freight flights to improve the movement of people and goods.
Additionally, he encouraged both parties to stimulate new sources of growth by broadening cooperation in areas such as cross-border e-commerce, big data, and artificial intelligence.
In response, Japarov affirmed that his country will collaborate with China to elevate the Belt and Road project to high standards, ensure the successful implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and enhance partnerships in industry, investment, trade, transportation, e-commerce, and education.
