NEW DELHI, Dec 19: During the “Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Convention” at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh praised young civil servants as pivotal players in realizing the vision of a “Viksit Bharat @ 2047.” Addressing a prominent audience of civil servants, scholars, business leaders, and students, he stressed their essential role in steering India towards becoming a developed nation by the year 2047.
Highlighting the importance of civil servants as catalysts for change, Dr. Singh noted that their vision, commitment, and innovative mindset will greatly influence the success of this national endeavor. He reassured that the Government is dedicated to equipping youth for this significant responsibility, announcing vital initiatives outlined in the Union Budget 2024-25. This includes advanced skill training for 2 million youth, modernization of 1,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and internship opportunities for 10 million young individuals. These efforts aim to prepare young people to excel in an increasingly competitive global landscape.
With enthusiasm, Dr. Singh underscored the government’s commitment to inclusivity, particularly regarding increasing women’s participation in the workforce. He cited impactful measures such as establishing working women hostels, crèches, and enhancing market access for women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs), referring to these initiatives as transformative in ensuring women’s equal partnership in India’s developmental trajectory.
Furthermore, he emphasized the government’s dedication to building world-class infrastructure through the PM Gati Shakti initiative and promoting sustainable development via investments in clean energy. Dr. Singh also pointed to India’s leadership in green initiatives, including the ambitious goal of reaching 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. He highlighted the rising significance of Indian innovation in fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and renewable energy, propelled by initiatives like Digital India and the Atal Innovation Mission.
Discussing India’s achievements in diplomacy and global leadership, Dr. Singh celebrated the successful G20 Presidency and its role in tackling challenges such as climate change, food security, and digital evolution. He expressed confidence that India will continue to assert its voice on the global stage, promoting equitable solutions to shared international issues.
