Jammu, Jan 8: Inaugurating a youth group from Jammu and Kashmir bound for New Delhi to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue at the National Youth Festival 2025, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday underscored the significance of youth in crafting their own futures and influencing the direction of the Union Territory (UT).
He described Jammu and Kashmir as a key location on the national cultural map, stating that the youth festival offers a distinct platform to exhibit the region’s rich cultural heritage and enhance societal cultural awareness.
“The youth hold the power to determine their paths and mold the future of Jammu and Kashmir. Aim high; never settle for less.
“Erase the term ‘impossible’ from your vocabulary and move ahead with resolve and assurance,” Sinha urged while engaging with participants and officials.
He encouraged the youth to take advantage of this exceptional opportunity to display their leadership skills and represent the diversity of Jammu and Kashmir through folk dance, poetry, writing, painting, and music.
The Lieutenant Governor urged participants to strive for excellence in their respective events while also considering how they can contribute to nation-building.
Discussing the vision and goals of the National Youth Festival, he stated, “This remarkable event equips our youth to face forthcoming challenges and duties with a sense of patriotism and responsibility toward the nation.”
He reaffirmed Jammu and Kashmir’s crucial position on India’s cultural landscape.
“The youth festival is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our cultural heritage and elevate societal cultural awareness,” he remarked.
At the UT level, this event creates a space for youth from various districts and backgrounds to connect, learn, and foster mutual appreciation of diverse cultures and talents, he noted.
During an interactive session, the youth expressed their perspectives on the themes they represent and deliberated on the role of Jammu and Kashmir’s younger generation in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
